Welcome to Cape Town Volunteer
The Cape Town Research and Conservation Initiative is a registered organisation undertaking environmental research and conservation action in collaboration with our partners in the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve. This reserve is situated in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
Our head office is located in Bloubergstrand, a beautiful suburb in the city of Cape Town, with our research centre in Langebaan, a small town centrally situated in the scenic Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve, less than an hour’s drive north of Cape Town. As a volunteer, you will be based at the research centre where you will take part in our research and conservation volunteer programs across the region.
We aim to research and conserve fundamentally important aspects of the biosphere reserve. Our programs incorporate long term monitoring, mapping, and fieldwork to provide scientific data to our partners. In addition, we actively engage in implementing conservation strategies and contributing to environmental education.
Join us for exciting experiences by contributing to the sustainable development of the biosphere reserve, as designated by the UNESCO “Man and the Biosphere” Programme!
