Cape Town Research and Conservation Initiative has implemented a number of conservation and research programs undertaken by suitably qualified staff in each department/program and international volunteers. We focus our efforts on the protection and sustainable development of the Cape West Coast Biosphere Reserve, an area that is constantly under pressure from ever-increasing population growth and development, as well as expanding agricultural farming activities.
We collaborate and share our resources and data with a number of partners including governmental departments within the Western Cape Province, various NGOs and research institutions in order to make a positive contribution to conservation and research organisation efforts in Africa. Our volunteers and staff in certain instances work with and on behalf of our partners to obtain important data that is used to assist in implementing new sustainable environmental strategies.
We collaborate with Cape West Coast Biosphere in an effort to conserve and research fundamentally important aspects of the biosphere area.
We also work in partnership with the Nature’s Valley Trust to preserve the long term environmental integrity of Nature’s Valley and its surrounding areas.
For our bird projects and coastal pollution projects, we work closely with our partners – BirdLife SA and Nature’s Valley Trust.
