The Beach House Research Centre is located in the small seaside holiday town of Langebaan. Situated only one hour’s drive from vibrant Cape Town, Langebaan is ideally positioned as a base for our research and conservation volunteers. The extremely large natural lagoon is the ideal playground for kite boarders, kayak enthusiasts, fishermen and other water sports. The West Coast National Park is only minutes away and offers a wide variety of game and bird species. Just a few kilometres outside Langebaan is the famous Club Mykonos with its yacht marina and entertainment venue. Volunteers also have very close access to shops, the local craft market, local bars and restaurants, all a short walk from the Beach House Research Centre.
Volunteers are accommodated in shared rooms with communal bathroom facilities. The Beach House Research Centre has permanent catering staff who ensure that volunteers are adequately fed.
